Settings of albums and templates

Every album or template has a number of standard settings for for example.:

Properties of the objects
Settings for the Layout Wizard and Align Wizard
Locations of the files
Other, like measurement units and settings for the function "Scan and analyse"

Each of these setting can be adjusted by using the "Settings" screen. This screen can be reached via the main menu Options en then Settings... .

The screen "Settings" has a number of tab pages. For every type of object a tab page is available with standard settings. These settings are used during the drawing of new objects.

When you close the screen "Settings" Stamp Album Studio will ask if the settings must be applied to the existing objects on your pages. This means that fonts, colors, etc. of existing objects will be adjusted.

Settings vs. properties of objects

There is a crucial difference between the screen "Settings" and the property screens of the objects.The settings in the screen "Settings" concern the drawing of new objects whereas the property screens concern existing objects on the pages.

As an example we take a look at the properties of a stamp. If the line width of a stamp is set to 1 in the "Settings" screen all (new) stamps will be drawn with line width 1.

If you want another line width for stamps, for example a width of 2, you can achieve this in two ways:

You change the line width to 2 in the screen "Settings" on the tab page “Stamp”. All new stamps will get a line width of 2. Existing stamps will keep their line width of 1;
You change the line width to 2 in the screen “Stamp properties” of the stamps in question. These stamps will now get a line width of 2, while all new stamps will still get a line width of 1.
